The post Utah Jazz shoots against Bulls, Michael Jordan named Wi-Fi in the building appeared first on NBC Sports Chicago
Wednesday’s “Pat McAfee Show” was hosted by Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith, 45.
Smith admitted that he was an avid Utah Jazz fan from an early age. While starting the highly successful Qualtrics with his father and brother, he would try to sneak into games at Delta Center, especially during the 1998 season when the Bulls faced the Jazz in the NBA Finals.
Smith isn’t much of a Bulls fan. That’s why he still carries it with him today. And also the team’s WiFi password.
“I remember that year there was a lot of discussion going on between Michael Jordan and Jazz fans,” Smith said, recalling the time. “Whether it’s pizza, if he gets sick, if he goes to Las Vegas, whatever it is, his WiFi in the building is ‘pushed Jordan’.”
Shortly after the interview, the Jazz’s social media team confirmed Smith’s claims.
Of course, Smith is referring to the 1998 NBA Finals, when Michael Jordan is credited with “pushing” Byron Russell and sinking the iconic game-winning shot in Game 6 in Utah. .
The game referee did not call Jordan foul on the play. Jordan and the Bulls won their third consecutive championship and sixth championship in eight seasons.
Did Jordan push Russell? If you ask Smith, he will direct you to his WiFi at Jazz.
