Google WiFi flashes blue – causes, meaning and how to fix it

A blinking blue light on Google WiFi means a firmware update is in progress, so slow servers or a software bug may also cause the update to take longer than usual. Therefore, he has to wait an hour before starting to troubleshoot the problem. Then the problem may resolve itself.

Google WiFi systems often experience a software glitch that causes a flashing blue light. To resolve this issue, power cycle the network.

• First, turn off all Google WiFi devices and modems.
• Disconnect all power cables and wait 5 to 10 minutes.
• Then connect your modem, turn it on and wait a few minutes again.

After waiting for about 10 minutes again, you should be able to connect to the remaining Google WiFi points and no longer see the blinking blue light.

A broken or damaged cable may also be the main reason behind the blinking blue light on Google WiFi. Make sure all cables are in good working order and are not cut, frayed, or bent. Also check the connection points to make sure the cable is inserted properly and into the correct port.

Resetting your Google WiFi point to factory settings will make it look like you just took it out of the box. A solid blue light usually means a reset is in progress, but in some cases, a glitch may cause the blue light to continue blinking.

In this case, you can factory reset your device again to resolve the issue. However, keep in mind that if you restore your Google device to its original settings, you’ll have to set it up again from scratch.

• Open the Google Home app on your phone.

Similarly, you can reset a failed node by pressing the reset button on the back of the node until the light turns solid blue. Once the factory reset process is complete, Google WiFi will flash blue again, but it should disappear after setup.

You can solve many problems, including network problems, by using the old reliable method of turning the power off and on again. Google WiFi can be restarted in two ways: automatically and manually. Here’s how:

Automatically

• Open the Google Home app and select the WiFi option.
• Go to WiFi settings and select the restart network option.
• Wait a few minutes.
• If Google WiFi is solid white, it should be working properly.

manually

• Unplug your WiFi device from its socket.
• Wait 1-2 minutes.
• Connect everything again.
• It should restart automatically.
• Wait again until your device boots completely.

Google WiFi flashing blue may be caused by an initial configuration issue. Several things may have affected your setup, such as settings not being applied properly.

In this case, reconfiguring your WiFi point may resolve the blue flashing issue. You can do this by following the steps below, but be aware that if you skip or omit any step, it will fail and you will have to start the entire process again.

• Open the Google Home app.
• Connect your WiFi point and modem with an Ethernet cable.
• Next, connect the WiFi point’s power cord to the socket.
• Open Google Reset and tap the Add+ icon.
• Tap on the Setup device option.
• Then select the option for your new device.
• Once done, the Google app will search for WiFi points.
• If the Google app is found, tap “Yes”.

If your Google WiFi keeps flashing blue, the issue may be hardware-related rather than a software glitch. In this case, your best bet is to contact Google Support.
