HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is celebrating the success of career and technical education with an investment of approximately $22 million. The Governor of Kentucky made the announcement at the Career and Technical Unit at Henderson County High School.
Kenergy has been awarded $10.2 million to bring high-speed internet to businesses and homes in Henderson and Davis counties, officials said. We hear that Kenergy will match that investment.
Governor Beshear said this investment will impact 2,353 homes and businesses in Henderson County and 1,221 homes and businesses in Davis County.
He also announced a $700,000 investment in 1 million square feet of construction land heading to Henderson County. That money will go to the industrial park for future development.
“People aren’t looking to the coast anymore. They’re looking at setting up in places like Kentucky. Every time there’s a new announcement, I think some of these talented young people are going to stay in Kentucky. They’re more likely to work,” Gov. Andy Beshear said.
These investments follow a $3.9 million investment made in 2022 to improve the high school’s technology department.
After touring the facility, Governor Beshear said what impressed him most was the students and their passion.
