Last year, glasses-free 3D company Leia partnered with ZTE to launch a 12.4-inch Android tablet that provides 3D visuals without the need for special glasses. The tablet, sold as Leia Lume Pad 2 or ZTE nubia Pad 3D, was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor.
Both companies are back, this time announcing new models with brighter displays with improved 3D visuals, faster processors, support for 5G cellular networks, and… AI capabilities. Because without it he’s not a 2024 device. they.of Nubia Pad 3D II It will be available in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and China later this year.
The new tablet features a 12.1-inch, 2560 x 1600 pixel, 144Hz display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, LPDDR5x memory, and UFS 4.0 storage. It is powered by a 10,000mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging.
Other features include quad speakers with DTS:X Ultra sound and dual microphones, global support for 5G networks, and more.
But the standout feature is the 3D capability. The tablet features an upgraded version of a “biomimetic dual camera” system designed to capture 3D photos and videos. According to ZTE, the new system “expands the optimal shooting range by 2.5 times.” Leia says the tablet has “80% increased 3D resolution and 100% increased 3D brightness” and “5x reduced crosstalk to eliminate ghosting.”
This is made possible in part by an AI-enhanced eye-tracking algorithm, which ZTE says can adjust 3D images in real-time based on your gaze, providing an 86-degree viewing angle for 3D visuals. They say they will provide it.
This tablet has dual 13MP rear cameras and dual 8MP front cameras.
The tablet also supports Neoviosion 3D Anytime technology for upscaling 2D content to 3D and multi-screen functionality that allows applications to be streamed from another device to the tablet and interacted with using a 3D display. .
ZTE has not yet announced pricing for the new tablet, but the first-generation model was selling for more than $1,000 at launch. In fact, ordering from his website at Nubia is now even more expensive. However, the virtually identical Lume Pad 2 has been marked down and is available from Leia for $599.
