As a provider of information technology infrastructure services to more than 1,000 companies around the world, Kyndryl Inc. has seen it all, especially in the telecommunications market.
One of the company’s biggest announcements last year was a private 5G solution for Nokia, and this year’s news focuses on HPE’s expansion of its 5G ecosystem.
“[We] We continue to support our clients as we have advised them and what we see in the market,” said Gretchen Tinnerman (pictured), general manager of telecommunications, media and technology at Kyndyrl. “They’re asking us to partner with other partners. And in doing so, we bring those skills in-house and continue to spread those skills to our clients.”
Tinerman spoke with theCUBE Research analysts John Furrier and Shelly Kramer at MWC Barcelona during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live streaming studio. They discussed his Kyndryl’s role in supporting telecommunications, the importance of a safe and inclusive working environment, and how Kyndryl supports sustainable telecommunications. Leading a sustainable data-driven telecommunications transformation
Because Kyndryl has so many partners around the world, we are able to carefully study and observe the trends that emerge and take over in the world of telecommunications. According to Tinerman, his three biggest trends he has observed over the past few years are sustainability, data, and transformation.
“Kindrill is a great story of transformation for our clients. We call ourselves Customer Zero,” she said. “We have spent the last two, two-and-a-half years transforming the company. This is a great example and allows us to demonstrate to our clients the skills we have to support that. ”
Kyndryl is actively addressing sustainability challenges with a focus on helping clients with data centers, climate control, power and consumption to help build a better planet. This priority reflects both client demands and the broader need for responsible environmental management in resource-intensive services. Tinerman said maintaining a sustainable and environmentally friendly environment is one of the company’s top priorities for its customers.
“Many of our customers have sustainability goals…and they know they have to achieve this for their future and our future as a planet. ” she said. “We ourselves have a sustainability group to advise clients on their own initiatives. [we] We meet our customers where they are, and we build a sustainability roadmap that brings them to the table to discuss their data center strategy, power consumption, and storage, and connect that to sustainability. ”
