Miski Omar: 10 funniest things I’ve ever seen (on the internet) | Culture

I I experience existential fear in three situations. The first is when I meet people. “Fat penguin,” I blurted out. It breaks the ice. The second situation is when someone asks me to name the 10 funniest things he’s seen on the Internet. Third, we must recognize that by 2030, climate change will be irreversible and more than 1 million species will be at risk of extinction. In other words, it’s not just fat penguins that break the ice even when they’re alive.

But that doesn’t matter now. The key is to edit the content that loops endlessly in your head. This is where I bring up existential fear number two. have fun.

1. Notice, Senpai, notice!

This guy certainly wants attention, but it’s not clear from whom.

You say, “It will be or it won’t be,” but I say, “I hope his eyes look at me and my loyalty is recognized. Realize, Senpai, realize.” This monologue is, Better than anything Shakespeare could have come up with. It’s also a great reference for anyone looking to write science fiction dialogue.

2. Who brings the baby into the mosh pit?

It takes a village to raise a child and it is said that strangers went to great lengths to bring this child to THE Flo Rida. There are many questions, including why the baby was in the mosh in the first place. Why didn’t I know the words? What is that retrograde? I can’t believe this random baby accomplished one of my bucket list goals before me.

3. Triumph Skating Academy Dance Class

I was overjoyed when this showed up on my Explore page. Here, what appears to be a dance instructor is seen teaching a group of children the Weeknd’s Starboy routine. Not very good. The kids can barely keep up, the instructor looks like a sea creature, and the caption says it’s a jazz class?! I think he should collaborate with Renata Bliss ASAP. I was disappointed to see that comments were disabled.

4. Helen of Troy – A terrifying history

Horrible history? Well, it’s a bit troublesome, is it in the early stages?

You’re used to watching period dramas where the characters speak in standard British accents, even if they’re set in Greece. But what if it was a more contemporary London thing, similar to Ali G?

“Helen, you’re so healthy, aren’t you? Your face could launch several ships.” When I was 11 years old, this changed my life. Let’s shout out the horrifying history!

5. Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jamaica

The Bible written in Jamaican Patois. Need I say more? If you want to know “Wu Lili A Kantuor This Ya Wall Ya”, in other words, who is really in control of this world, then you should definitely watch it.

6. See a living dinosaur in Edmonton

Trolling is the first commandment of being Somali, and this video captures it perfectly, from the infectious laugh, to the description of a live dinosaur sighting on national television, to the screaming and gang signs. Masu. If you’ve ever wondered what I would do if I were on the news, this is it.

7. Ant and Seb on The X Factor

Are they true? This is priceless!

This video reminds me of when your mom told you that your sister had to take you with her when she went out. But you end up slowly sipping Hungry Jack’s red Fanta while watching your girlfriend’s sister and her friends ignore you in the Westfield food court. It’s an old-fashioned Shaggy style with some out-of-place ad-libs. I’ve been using these improvisations without any context for months. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to all my friends.

8. Who else can look at a leprechaun and say “Yes!”?

It could be a leprechaun, it could be a crackhead. But in any case, locals say: “There is no need to be afraid.”

A leprechaun has been spotted in a city in Alabama, and everything there is comedy gold. From an amateur sketch that looks more like an acorn drawn from memory than a leprechaun, to a pandemonium where people shout “Where’s the gold!” over possible treasure.

And there is a man with an ancient flute that has been passed down in his family for centuries. This was apparently used to track leprechauns. This is an early internet troll, probably one of the earliest I’ve come across.

9. Westerners Episode 3

Australia – through a different lens.

This is some suburban humor from ABC iView’s short series Westerners, which I had the pleasure of working on. This is a surrealist comedy-drama about three young people from Sydney’s western suburbs. They navigate life, family relationships, and the absurdities of their surroundings.

Linked is the episode I directed and wrote. Is this just a personal cry for help? Please see it! Don’t ask me about my wedding plans. West is the best!

10. Take me to the movies

Home grown.

Bangs are our Soulja Boy. South Sudanese rapper from Melbourne. His song “Take You to the Movies” was his 2010 viral hit. This is my gospel, my brother, and I still quote it. This is a PowerPoint presentation visual! He is truly a visionary. Mr. Bangs, if you see this, let’s talk business.

  • Miski Omar is a speech therapist, writer and director from Sydney. Watch her episodes of her ABC iView series Westerners on YouTube.
