COLUMBUS, Wis. (WKOW) — Columbus High School will receive $5,000 as part of T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Light campaign to support small town high schools.
The campaign will run during the upcoming high school football season, with finalists announced in early October and the winner revealed in early December.
Columbus High School entered to win a $2 million grand prize that includes technology upgrades to the football field, a $100,000 cash grant, a new scoreboard, a 5G network upgrade, the best tailgate party in the entire region, a 5G-powered halftime drone show and a special gift from Gronk himself: an upgraded weight room from GronkFitness.com.
During the entry period, 16 finalist schools will receive $25,000 each and 300 schools will receive $5,000 each. Columbus is one of the first schools to receive the $5,000.
The submission deadline is September 20th.
T-Mobile will select finalists based on several factors, including why the high school needs a top-winning technology upgrade, the potential impact to the school’s football field and how the school demonstrated spirit through social engagement during the application period.
““In the end, the school that can break through the noise, best demonstrate community spirit and passion, and encourage members of their community on social media to vote for their school will be the winner,” the website says.
