Hi everyone, I have a Mbp 16″ M3 Pro and an iPhone 15 Pro (both devices support Wi-Fi 6E) and last week I bought a new AP that supports Wi-Fi 6E, the Unifi U6-Enterprise.
Unfortunately I can only connect the Mbp to the 5 Ghz Wifi 6. When I control and configure this AP via Unifi UDM Pro the AP clearly shows the 6 Ghz band and “0 connections” and the 5 Ghz band and “Many connections” and also shows the Mbp and iPhone 15 Pro.
Has anyone been able to connect the M3 (or M2 if it also supports Wifi 6E) to Wifi 6E without using U6-Enterprise? Are there any settings required via Terminal.app or otherwise to use Wifi 6E? I can’t find any Wifi setting possibilities on the Sonoma other than the obvious ones not related to Wifi 6E.
Some technical facts:
– Mbp M3 Pro running Sonoma 14.2.1
– Only one AP, Unifi U6-Enterprise
– 1 SSID for 2.4/5/6 Ghz bands
– UDM Pro Router
– In open space, the Mbp is approximately 6 meters (18 feet) away from the AP.
– I’ve tried tweaking the AP and different settings but the Wifi 6E band doesn’t show up in Wifi Explorer and the AP’s configuration page doesn’t show any Mbps connected to the 6Ghz band.
– I read all the Apple support pages about Wifi 6e and didn’t find anything that would help my case.
According to Apple Support, you should be able to enable/disable Wi-Fi 6E as follows:
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Wi-Fi.
- next to the name of the Wi-Fi 6E network you’re connected to.[詳細]button.
- From the pop-up menu next to “Wi-Fi 6E Mode,” select “Off.”
But from what I can see, there is no Wifi 6E option.
